So we all knopw about Black Droid/Ultimate Droid and all of the Drama that went on. I switched over to Cyanogen during all of that Drama since I was running a hacked up version of it anyway. Since I switched I have to say that I love the ROM Manager app that is up on the market. ROM Manager is SUPER easy to use and it's VERY hands off in it's approach to flashing a ROM. There are 2 versions; a free and a Donate version. ROM Manager and Cyanogen are both made by Koush. The real nice thing about ROM Manager is; there are multiple different ROMS available as well as themes and wallpapers and scripts. So I was on 5.0.7.1 and then Koush (who is ALWAYS hard at work) came out with 5.0.8.1 Basically, The newer version is still based off of Eclair (not Froyo) but has Froyo elements added. I have tried MULTIPLE versions of the Froyo (2.2) leak versions and I am NOT impressed. It's a leak and therefor is pretty buggy. Added to the numerous Bugs; the fact that some apps fail to work at all since the developers still are working on Froyo app compatability. So in sumation; I am STILL Loving Cyanogen Mod and will continue to use it for quite some time. I, like countless others am eagerly awaiting Google's release of Froyo. Once this happens; the OTA push will be a few months away but the ROM Developers will have all the kinks worked out and will have a stable 2.2 platform far in advance of Verizon's failed OTA's
